Is anyone actually doing this?
Is anyone actually playing by email? If not, any ideas why not -- is it just to lengthy and involved?

Combat Rally Rules Question
We finally got a chance to play this -- and stumbled upon an ambiguity in the rules:
Player A held the card for Player B and so could attack freely and did so. Player B could then attack back and did so. The two of them battled it out a bit and after successfully using the Gorn Anchor and then ...

Thanks for the report. Our group has been planning for about three weeks now to play this scenario at next opportunity (postponed twice now, due to health-related absence of the player who proposed it). As a fairly new player who's only done duels, free-for-all battles, or team battles, this sounded ...

Wish I'd seen this sooner...
I almost never read this part of the forums... wish I'd done so a few hours earlier -- I'd have joined you too. Maybe next week.

Weapons Chart Poster
Wow...just wow. The weapons chart is a nice touch too.
Yeah... we were frequently scrambling to find the right card for the tables we needed and thought it would be nice to be able to just look up and see them. I designed the poster in OpenOffice and exported it to PDF. We were going to have it ...

A Noob Response to the EM rule change
I was in some intensive training over the course of this discussion and unable to monitor or respond to the forum so, even though I'm late to the "party" I'd like to register my thoughts -- take them for what they're worth.

Old habits...
... are hard to break...
We had a new player (old SFB player) play with a couple of us this week and he felt compelled to use die rolls to choose which phaser he'd mark out. We assured him it wasn't necessary, but that's how he preferred to do it...

Limit to Drone Reloads?
I think we've been misinterpreting the ship cards of Kzinti ships in our little battlegroup. We saw below each drone rack (on most ships) a block of boxes with numbered rows with four empty boxs in each row. Four drones in each rack -- ah! Must be reloads for the rack above! So we used those boxes ...

Strategies vs NeoTholians
Played a couple of duels on Saturday against a Neo Tholian, once in a Fusion/Fighter Hydran ship and once in a Gorn ship. My opponent is experience in SFB and FedCom, but inexperienced with Neo Tholians (as was I with the Gorn).
In the first matchup, I got the better of him (with the Hydran) but it ...

Drones
I had settled on the same strategy for the next time a fly a big kzinti ship. I've been playing Hydrans my last couple of games.Scoutdad wrote:This has led some in our local group to adopt the following strategy when flying Kzin ships...

Reloading drone racks
Forgetting to reload drone racks
It sucks to be on turn four, firing a wave of drones from your undamaged ship, and realize that your racks are now empty. If you fire drones at all in a turn and don't have high priority repairs to do, reload a drone rack.
But... just to clarify (and I'd like to ...
