mjwest -

Thanks for the clarification. We should probably get this "official" ruling into a communique.

I do have a follow-up question needing clarification.

It seems that I should be able to have 1xPh1 that is 360 if I take one drone (since on squadron scale I could have 1 LS + 1 RS Ph-1 and 2 ...

Thanks Dal,

The thing is, one could have 2 Ph-1's in fleet scale (option Y & Z). So would they both be 360?

Perhaps the semicolon is extraneous and the line should read :

Y (Z): Phaser-1/2/3, plasma-D+*, drone, ADD (360)

This would make sense in that everything is 360 unless one gets 2 plasma-D ...

Orion Dreadnought (fleet) - Option Y/Z

I am confused as to the firing arcs for the Orion Dreadnought (listed in Orion Attack rules).

Most options are listed in the following format:

weapon-a, weapon-b (arc); weapon-c, weapon-d (arc)

For example... Orion Battlecruiser (fleet)

B: Phaser-1/2/3 (360); photon, disruptor, fusion (FA ...

Thanks for the feedback!

I was trying to find the exact rules on this but was having some difficulty. This topic may make for a good Communique article on how it is supposed to work - i.e. whether declarations must be made before damage is dealt or not.

Cheers!

Multiship Declaration of Fire

My understanding is that all firing is considered simultaneous in the Offensive fire stage and that ships can "me-too" fire. Furthermore, all weapons are resolved from one weapon before moving to the next.

So just to clarify in fleet battles, is the following sequence correct:

Scenario: Player A ...

Reloading in-use drone launchers

Suppose I am flying the Kingon C10 (fleet scale) which has 3 repair points and 4 drone launchers.

Since it takes 4 repair points to reload drone launchers, it will take 2 turns to completely reload a drone launcher.

What if I have fired 2 of my 4 drones in that drone launcher. Can I begin the ...

Hi mjwest,

I just re-read your post in which you said...

"the general cost for converting to a Ph-G is 3 BPV, that is not a hard cost, and some ships (e.g. the two dreadnought variants mentioned) will have a different effective cost"

Personally, I don't think it is a good design to vary the ...

I understand that MJW's words are "golden", except his post seemed to indicate that he was not aware that there was an "official" increase in the PH-G costs for the later published ships. So, I was bringing this to his attention.

Is it intentional that Ph-G's cost +3 pts for some ships, +2 pts for ...

I humbly point out that you are mistaken that the only "officially changed Point Value is the LDR CA". In Booster pack 17, we have

Lyran Desert Lion Light Dreadnaught
Lyran BPV: 111 LDR BPV (w/ 2 gat's): 123
adjusted cost: 6 pts per Ph-G

Lyran Forest Lion Heavy Dreadnaught
Lyran BPV ...

Thanks Dal! Yeah, it seems like the newer cards have the cost at 6. Hopefully we will see a listing of all prices for LDR ships in an upcoming communique.

Thanks again!

LDR Ph-G cost

Is it official that LDR ships must pay 6pts per Ph-G rather than 3? I saw a communique in which the author was saying this is optional. But then I just got booster pack 17 in which several of the dreadnaughts were purchasing them at 6pts per rather than 3 pts per.

Thanks!

Hi all!

I just wanted to echo terryoc's comment. I cannot find anywhere that the rules say the plasma is lost, only that I have the option to launch it even if the launcher was destroyed.

Some people are saying, "it is very clear, the torpedo is destroyed at the end of the turn", etc. These people ...

All good points. However, I will point out that the rule says it "can" be launched until the end of the turn, not that is "must" be launched before the end of the turn. This is a subtle but very important distinction.

In any case, I think we are all in agreement that this is a vague area in the ...

Kang - respectfully, you are oversimplifying the problem and misquoting the rule. Rule 4J3d "Disabled Launch" says nothing about launch it or LOSE it. This is the crux of the problem. The rules never explicitly say what happens to the energy in the plasma launcher when it is disabled.

A review of ...
