That's some mighty fine work there man. I too come from an AFV modelling background, and it has never occured to me to use etched brass parts on my Fed Com models, so thanks for the tip!

Over the years, I've taught a lot of people to play a lot of games. I'm sometimes freaked out by the amount of rulebooks that are stored in my head, ranging from hardcore wargames to stuff like Agricola.

My approach is always the same, i.e. a brief run down of the salient points, with examples of ...

More child/starship combat game indoctrination

Yes, I've just introduced my 11 year old boy to Fed Com. We played a simple 3 way duel (with the wife), all in Fed ships, as they are the easiest to explain I think.

What can I say? He absolutely loved it! He picked it up straight away, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute, especially firing 8 PH-1s ...

Very nicely done. Quite an interesting choice of fleet mix too, not the usual TV or Tech Manual ships.

Thanks! As for the fleet mix, I didn't really go into the whys and wherefores of what ship would complement another. They were just the ones I'd finished in time for the meet of BG London next ...

@Shauneroo: Well spotted - and you are absolutely correct. Two of the three Klingon players are big Mastodon fans, and the squadron was informally known as "Blood and Thunder Squadron". Hehe!

Excellent. I'm a big fan myself, and those Federation ships are very much akin to white whales...

Klingon C7: Leviathan

Am I correct in thinking that someone there is a Mastodon fan?

I got into FC about a year ago, and have played exclusively squadron scale. I just feel that fleet scale battles would be over a little too soon, and I prefer the richer level of detail available at squadron scale.

Unless I am very much mistaken, the ship has already 'pre-paid' for it's movement, and thus would still move on all relevant impulses and sub impulses for the rest of the turn. It would only be at the point of power allocation the next turn that she wouldn't be able to move.
