There were of course the "eye candy" components to the vendor booths - although I didn't see Chainmail Girl. (You know, the one that just wears a chainmail dress, and well, that's it)

I would certainly NEVER get my picture taken with any booth babe as this would significantly reduce my chances of ...

Yep, my OSU Buckeyes cap gives me away... When I graduated, they made me sign in blood that I would wear buckeye accoutrements in all pictures with foreign dignitaries, attractive women and wargame designers.

I stopped by the Ninja Magic booth and saw the masters as well. The rapid prototyping system that he used is awesome. This give the minis great detail! These are really great additions to the miniatures line - can't wait to get them!

Got to meet SVC at ORIGINS!

I had the unique opportunity to meet SVC at ORIGINS this weekend. I have been wargaming for 29 years now and it has provided a tremendous amount of enjoyment. I mention this as the first wargame that I purchased at my local hobby store was the TFG pocket game Starfleet Battles.

SFB lead to many ...

Very slick! Your photoshop work brings a new dimension to mini photos.

It also reminds me of the effect that was used for the cloaking device in the remastered "Enterprise Incident".

Thanks for posting!

I ordered my Reference Rulebook directly from ADB and got it unbound. This let me put the rules in a 3-ring notebook and use sheet protectors.

The sheet protectors are handy to hold the ship cards as well. I did this with my Briefing #2 too.

Hope that helps...

Quick note - The shipping from ADB ...

Very nice!

I really like the dark olive green on your Klingon ships. I always thought that the Klingons were the metaphorical stand-ins for the Russians during the TOS episodes and TOS movies. The green reminds me of Russian armor.

For my Klinks, I used a grey primer and then washed the ...

I suggest FC:KB too - I got it two months ago and its a great starter. I got my Briefing #2 a couple of weeks ago and its an awesome value with tons of ships.

Due to the recent "vigorous" discussion regarding fighters, I ordered and just got my first Captain's Log (#37) so I could consider adding ...

I just got FC:KB several weeks ago and mine has Romulan Border printed on the PRC as well. I hadn't noticed until now. I have a couple of quick questions...

1. How do I know that I have the updated version? There is no version number listed on mine.

2. If I have an older chart, how do I get the ...

I use rare earth magnets for all of my basing. I started with my WW2 aircraft minis and continued the trend with my FC ships.

I cut the top pin off of the stand and superglue a rare earth magnet on the top. I then super glue a rare earth magnet to bottom of the miniature - generally where the hole ...

I am a newbie too but I'd like to take a stab at this as I have just posted a similar question.

First, I was excited to see in the new Briefing #2 The Middle Years was a hospital ship uses an old Light cruiser hull. You could use this card for your new mini.

I also have a variety of miniatures ...

First game for Newbie

Greetings,

I just wanted to let you all know that I recently played the first game of FC and it went very well. I actually ran the game as Game Ref and had my 14 year old son and 8 year old daughter pitted against each other.

My 14 year old is a good wargamer (much better than I was at his age ...

Thanks again for all of the great input... I had located Don Miller's site before and is a great source for home-grown SSDs. I hadn't notice his formula before.

I think I am going to keep the ship cards that I have now and "fit" the non-SFB miniatures that I have to existing ship classes/cards ...
