Personally I don't do proxying at all. It can be confusing, and causes a "disconnect" from the immersion into the game. If someone shows up with the "wrong" minis, I'll make it a point to either suggest using stuff from my collection, or (if given enough lead-up time) I'll go and buy the correct ...

Decals are much more simplified compared to Starfighter, giving you just what you need for major features. I have decals for the Feddie FFs, and they only include the ship name, callout number, and a few of the stripes. They are nice decals and a good compromise between detail and fiddly-ness.

Pretty sure the Old Crow stuff is the mix n pour stuff. Frankly, in the non-professional circles, anything called "resin" is usually the mix n pour stuff rather than the injection molded stuff, though sometimes the terminoligy is used pretty loosely (but on the other end -- poured resin referred to ...

Couple more points:
Re - handpainting and brush marks. THIN YOUR PAINTS! I handpaint exclusively in acrylics (I airbrush exclusively in acrylics too). For GW paints, I thin approx 50% with distilled water (we have hard water here in Pennsylvania, and sometimes it can leave calcium deposits on the ...

Personally, here is how I paint my ships.
Feddies: Gray, specifically I use Citadel's Fortress gray. When dry it looks vaguely like Haze gray used on US postwar warships. I could airbrush haze gray, but sometimes it's just easier to brush paint and do it up quickly. It's also closer to the filming ...

Minis Stands
Hey ho! First time poster!
I have a couple of the Zocchi plastic ships, as well as an older Feddie CL I got off Ebay. All my Klingon ships come on black plastic bases, but the Zocchis and the old CL have the transparent bases.
Now let me preface this question with: yes, I am that anal. I want to ...
