Thank you all for the replies!

In the case of smaller, weaker vessels facing off against real cruisers, I was going to give players multiples of these ships. In the case of the Tholians, it might be three PCWs against a Federation CA, figuring that the advanced rules of the web might even the odds ...

TOS:R gives us a Gorn ship (looking little like an SFB/SFC ship...), my query was more on what SFB'ers assumed the ship was.

If I was going after every single ship in all of TOS, what do people think that klingon scout ship was in Friday's child? The ship that attacked the Enterprise in Errand of ...

Ships from TOS, TAS

I thought this question had been asked already but I couldn't find it in the forums...

I'm hoping to introduce Federation Commander (with some added house rules for simplicity of play) to my gaming group. For starters, I thought about limiting the ship selection to ships from the TV series, so ...

It would appear that in order to do a simpler F&E, one needs to start from the ground up.

Personally that's fine with me. There are some details I find appealing about F&E but going in depth about them brings up the complexity and brings down the game. I look forward to the end product, whenever it ...

Percentages. Multiplication. Chart consultation.

These things take too long. What about battles that are resolved with one throw of the dice and looking for desired results? Plenty of systems have 4, 5s, or 6s constitute 'successes' or 'hits'. Why not have a target number to be rolled against? That ...

Well... I peeked over at the old discussion board for the topics on an F&E Lite or "Beer & Pretzels" version of this game. Since none of them have been updated since 2007 (with most of the discussion happening in '03), I think I can see those threads as effectively dead.

But I want to post this ...

So rather than the book, I should put on my wishlist the ink cartridges and paper needed to print this 93 page monstrosity? Well, it would mean updates come free...

Have past revisions noted which sections have changes or would one effectively need to print the entire rulebook again?

Rulebook now, or should I wait?

Hi all.

I'm interested in getting a copy of the Reference Rulebook, but should I spend "holiday efforts" on getting it now or wait for January when a revised book is supposed to come out?

Would we really need plastic minis/toys for a F&E lite to take off? Personally I don't mind hex and counter- it's the sheer amount of units, rules density and long set-up times that really impede me from enjoying F&E. I have the game but can never play it because of these factors.

Wasn't there the ...
