Yeah, those are good but they burn through batteries pretty fast and the power field makes the cat's hair stand on end. Never wear nylon in close proximity.

I switched over to Litko bases with a removable peg topper which allows you to remove the model. Theoretically anyway, tight fit :) Probably ...

Haven't had any bent Klingon booms, but I'd agree about the Kzinti drone booms needing thickened. Had to reattach about a third of mine, a few even broke off just with the pressure of my paintbrush (I'd point out that they were preordered and arrived soon after release, so they'd be an early batch ...

So cloak behind/in cover and at long range. ACTA isn't usually played on a featureless table.

(especially in ACTA where cloaking against seeking weapons is a death sentence)

Why ? You've a 50/50 chance to ignore any hit on the turn you cloak and can't be targeted by seekers in following turns. Unless you're cloaking where a ship or ships can get into short range with full loads of Plasma ...

Remember, Romulans get that 6" free de-cloak move, and 6" more of regular movement.

Actually, the rule clearly states that you don't move any further after the decloak move.

Anyway, I'd have to agree with Storyelf's thoughts on Drone/Plasma launch upthread. As far as CQ checks go, I'd suggest ...

The Federation, Klingon, Romulan and Gorn ones are available on Wargames Vault (printable and tablet versions in each pack) if you don't want to wait.

The Kzinti pack and whatever way they plan on releasing the other three smaller fleets are still to come, so I doubt the ones listed on the Mongoose ...

Finally got my Klingons finished, other than hull and base markings. Ended up going for a more minimalist scheme than I originally intended, think it works with the level of detail on the models. Fleet box plus a single (resin) D7.

You could always use the ones marked "subtype unknown", and it seems logical that FFDs were conversions of existing FFGs so you could just use their names too.

Not that there's anything stopping you from making up your own.

I don't know about the Corsec mats, but I've had one of the Hotz mats for about 6 years which has taken all sorts of abuse and is still in great shape.

The only drawback might be that they don't do hex overlays on anything larger than 72" x 45".
