Mjwest: This is why I post here before actually implementing! :D Thank you for the heads up. Are you privvy to why WWs were not implemented? As it stands, if a Romulan shoots a plasma at you, you MUST HET and run, there are no other options. So this means any game lasting more than 4 turns is a kill ...

Now, that's important: Is Borders of Madness doing what we are looking for? Because we'd much rather use (and wait for) an out of the box supplement rather than mod the game if we can.

So, also important to note: We aren't interested in messing with the actual mechanics of FedCom (Though we are ...

Fed Com Advanced Missions.

(I know there is no such product)

So, starting with the threads I posted earlier: We were playing FedCom, thought it lacked some things, modified the game on our own, discovered that we actually weren't reading the rules properly to BEGIN with, messed up the game system (not being familiar with the ...

Awesome! Thanks guys! I actually caught on to the Legendary officers while reading the SFB rulebook and thought this might be the right path. It took me a lot longer to realize that I needed to scan for (G.22) to find all the instances of Legendary Officers in the book...

I'll see if I can't get a ...

Thanks for the help, guys! :) so... I am trying to find the rules for legendary officers and I can't. I have a SFB rule book, but it just says look in a future expansion. Can anyone tell me what rulebook legendary officers are in ?

Hmmm.... so maybe I was looking more for "Space Opera: The 5th Fleet" or something like that... When you read about the antics of a squadron (like the Black Sheep) or even a carrier group, there are all of these weird little quirks that pop up (The plane whose propeller craps out just before a fight ...

Thread Necromancy... sorry about that...

I'm between jobs, I got laid off in February and now it's July and money is extraordinarily tight. I cut ANY corner.

My first choice when buying things for FedCom is going to a local store, because they are becoming scarcer and scarcer as time goes on, and ...

Variety in the Fedcom universe.

So, as I was talking about over here:

http://www.starfleetgames.com/federation/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?p=61186#61186

We were trying to make a large scale FedCom game, it was foolish to try without getting a good solid grasp on the rules, so we have some time before we try to get this under control ...

A really good scenario to sell FedCom to a burned out player

So... story time (It's always story time with me):

We started playing a while back and half of our team, being people who like to tinker with games, started working on a large-scale campaign thing, with characters which influence ship operations and organic objectives (As in tactically this ...

I'm with pinbot... the original Gorns were bland... with Scales and some greebles put on them, I'm actually interested. I'll be buying some Gorn ships here pretty soon (I'm a Fed player, so I probably won't PLAY them... but I'm going to buy them :D)

Hmmm... now the map thickens :D

I like the Tholians being out on the Outer arm... that seems to fit better. It's also interesting that the LDR ends up hanging out in the gap between arms... kinda a resource-poor location of the galaxy, that fits :D

Naturally, though the book says the Federation is ...

Wait... The map goes to the rim... ?

Or are you saying the races should be on the rim?

I know that the SFU map doesn't correspond with reality... this was an exercise in seeing if it could. :D

And the little part off of the Sagittarius arm is the Orion spur (Turns out we aren't really in the ...

Galactic map

So... I just got my copy of Prime Directive D20 (We actually play GURPS, but a friend was balking at an all GURPS setup and wanted a D20 backup, so I went and bought the D20 book and was leafing through it... er... you know, that wasn't important).

Anyway, I was reading through the D20 book ...
