All the pulses are added togther into a single volley, per shield of course.

So If you fire at range 9 and roll a 10 you have hit with 3 pulses (1 over the to hit number means you lose one pulse).

That means you do 3-12-3 damage overall, each of the 3 shields is a seperate volley, but there is ...

Few quick PPD questions.

If I'm understanding this correctly. Each PPD pulse is treated as a separate volley subject to shield reinforcement. I wanted to confirm that.

My second question is does my opponent roll on the damage track for 2 or 3 "4 point" volleys on the damage track? that can make for some annoying accounting ...

Yes, the ship will have either 2 PPD or 2 Pl-S. (It can't have one of each.)

The last sentence of (4M1) says that "[n]o ISC fleet can have more PPDs than ships." The one exception is that an ISC CS can operate by itself.

Awesome, actually caught that just after I posted. I still think it's a ...

Change of question, I tried to play Kzinti instead, I took a new command cruiser, and two battle cruisers against his fleet of 3 CS ships.

Now just to be clear, those Plasma S's convert to PPD's on a one to one basis? With no point change?

I don't know if I was doing something wrong, but the ...

So would a viable strategy in a Fed vs Gorn game to be to go slow the first turn to fully overload the torpedoes then go speed 24 and volley at range 8? You won't have much power for phasers but you can hopefully cave in a shield every pass?

Also, where is this plasma rule referred to for my ...

Quick federation match up question (ISC and Gorn)

I'm a recent Fed Com purchaser and I got my friends to by into it. We played SFB in the early 90's, and we've forgotten most of what we learned.

I was wondering if anybody could give me a basic overview of these match ups. I own Klingon border, so I have some idea of how the Feds vs Klingons and ...

Is there any plan to produce drone counters? or will those still be card board?

Also, thanks for the response!

Either side can declare first and the other side can me too.
Thanks, we played it correctly then!

Who declares acceleration first?

Quick rule clarification, in terms of declaring acceleration how does it work? Similar to weapons fire? or is it hidden like speed declaration?

Quick question about the fleet boxes.

A quick question, does anybody know what fleet boxes and squadrons I'd need to get all the figurines required for the SSD's included in Klingon border and Klingon attack? I haven't decided what race I want to play, but I'm considering Kzinti or Federation and I don't know if I have to purchase ...

I think the theory around him targeting the F5 was that it was the most fragile and you could easily destroy it to remove a couple of disruptors and phasers from play. I thought accepted thinking was usually to pop small ships before moving on to the more durable ones.

The Doomsday machine.

Relatively new player here. Today we played the doomsday machine scenario three players. We played it Doomsday machine vs 350 points in Klinks, 1 D7, 1 D6, and 1 F5 at squadron scale made it a perfect match.

The doomsday machine player got worked. We essentially crippled him on turn two. Our ...

I think I have the idea thanks, not that the Klingons are having problems right now with the fixed borders, from reading around here I think I'll be able to do the Feds more justice so next game we're going to switch sides.

Well, I've played two games since, and my Klingons have been teaching my two friends who are learning federation to be a little more choosy about when firing their photons (twice now they've fired them at too long of a range, and I've moved in and hammered them during the reload).

I'm wondering at ...
