From what I've read, FC tends to promote miniature sales, enough to make otherwise marginal minis viable to produce.

I am guilty here. I've been buying miniatures simply because they're packaged so well to match up with the expansions. I never did this with SFB, but that was mostly due to cost ...

The most interesting empire to play is... all of them! If you just specialise in playing a particular empire, you're missing out on a lot of fun IMO.

I almost agree with this. I play one empire more than others... well, I will when the Lyrans make it to FC. But, playing all the other empires ...

Well, that's good to know. I guess if I find myself needing more ships, I could get things piecemeal through spare parts. However, I definitely hope I won't have to do that. We definitely exceeded that fleet limit when we played SFB years ago, but I don't think I'll try that in Federation Commander ...

Aren't their counters provided for every ship they put in a Module or Booster (except Booster 0)? I thought these things were matching up, but then I haven't double checked in a long time.

Two smaller ships should be more maneuverable. Keep your speed high, get behind him and then unload on the rear or a rear quarter shield. Splitting your ships up is very risky... if one gets crippled, you'll be in even bigger trouble.

are you saying keep them in the same hex?

There's no weapon ...

When GW release Chaos Daemons for their two main games (Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 - which use the same 28mm) they don't do tw oseparate boxes for each game - they do one 'Chaos' listed box with the two relevant game systems labelled on it.

The Megahex pack is a precedent for materials ...

In my opinion, including references to SFB will mostly just confuse the non-SFB Federation Commander players. Particularly if those races aren't in the game at that point. Since I have no clue what any of this is, I'm assuming Omega 4 came out after my SFB days came to a close. The biggest reason ...

Well, it's too late to change it now, and anyway, it wouldn't work.

For the boosters to match the squadron boxes, the squadron boxes would have eight ships and cost $50. That price point was judged too high.

Ok, I can understand that. And yeah, I realize it's too late.

For the border box to ...

Well, a Space Dragon box set need not have just the FC logo on it - it could have both the logos for FC and for SFB (the way that the Megahex module does).

The whole point would be to help introduce new people to Omega, and to the Branthodons - a note pointing out (for SFB players) that SFB rules ...

Maybe include a note indicating their usefulness as ships for the Branthodon fleet - as well as a picture or two showing a sample conversion to represent the backpacks?

Gary

I'm confused... this race isn't even in the Core "other game" stuff, correct? Why include notes on a unrelated game and ...

I had to click on the 'reply to topic' button a total of TWENTY-FOUR TIMES to get it to give me a "message blank". It took me a variety of places, including the "other products menu" and the "main menu" and the "front page" and the "log in page" and the "about php page" and the "profile page ...

I don't see there being a problem with talking about the "other game," try to keep it light, the "other game" tends to scare newbies off because of its complexity.

I remember having a friend in college inquire about the game. When I dropped the huge 3 ring binder with all the rules in ...

I tap my watch and ask for 6 months worth of future product at a time. :D I can tell you what the "definites" are for the next few months. But then SVC may clobber me...he hates me keeping him on a schedule.

That entry still makes it sound like it's a few years away at best. "No work currently being done." Maybe that could change easily... but maybe not... it looks as if ADB has a pretty full plate for the next year or so.
