Federation Commander

Have they ever published a draft or detailed preview of Federation Admiral? Or are there any popular, published homebrew systems that capture some of that campaign flavor?

Anybody out there in the DC-area looking to play Federation Commander? Are there any active play groups around? I'm in DC on Capitol Hill, but I can travel at least as far as the Beltway.

Well, I've been dabbling with SFB and FC on and off for years, but this thing's not letting go this time, and I've just got to play. (Fed Commander, that is, I don't have the mental bandwidth for SFB.) Until I can track down some players in person, I'd like to try playing online. If anybody ...
