No, if it is too thin it will flow in the deeper areas and the whole panel effect will be ruined.

When you say layer upon layer - do you mean you literally just paint a lighter shade right over all of the darker shade? Or do you mean you are painting a smaller "highlighted" area lighter? ...

Nope, no drybrushing at all, just layer upon layer! 8)

...Do you mean saucer section or deflector dish for the part that was warped? Because the saucer section is sort of oddly sunken seeming just before the rise - but I believe that's by design.
