Actually, as I understand it, SFB itself used to have 24, 16, and 8-impulse "turns" as options, back in the 1970s.

The Fed has an advantage in phasers, but the Lyran has both phasers and disruptors; the Fed only has photons. Once you've charged up your ESG they hold for free; so the Lyran has plenty of power for dancing and keeping the range open.

If you're playing one-on-one games, it's best to just use Heavy Cruisers at Squadron Scale; that's the best balance for 1v1. Using smaller ships (or Fleet Scale) tends to make you die after the first good hit, which really punishes mistakes. Also, the plasma ships get kind of wacky at Fleet Scale ...

The scenario is enough of a pain in the butt already; there's no need to make it harder for the Combine side.

There isn't one. It's a holdover from SFB, where you can fire both fusions at once (but there are also more ways to kill fighters.)

I find it easier to just say that Stingers have one gatling phaser and one four-shot Fusion Beam.

My thought is, I'm in the hex, Speed Zero - I buy an accel point and then cancel it in subpulse 4. Turn mode of 1 is now satisfied - but surely I can't actually turn the ship until the next impulse? If you hadn't "moved" any hexes before your first Acceleration, then yes, you would have to do one ...

From the way this thread is going, I'd say that Anti-Hellbore Bursts are somewhat like Shield Reinforcement, in that they're a direct response to a specific attack. I don't have to declare that I'm going to use Shield Reinforcement; I just do it after I take damage. Similarly, I don't have to ...

I would say no. It works like a drone rack, loaded with "ammunition"; if the rack is disabled then all the D-torps go away.

Other than that the rules specifically don't allow you to fire a particle cannon more than twice per turn?
