Power for movement

Post by Dan Ibekwe »

An APT gets hit by a pair of drones, and loses all of her warp and impulse, but still has four reactor boxes.

Can she still move? I *think* the answer is 'yes' in FC (it's definately 'no' in SFB), but I'd like to be sure.

Dan like Piner said the answer is yes you keep moving in FC, but...

Can someone confirm if he can still Accelerate or Decelerate, or if he can still HET. I am pretty sure the answer in FC is Power is Power so he could still manuver. Also Can he keep moving in the next turn with no Warp Boxes?

as long as he has power from somewhere he can move. but with no warp boxes chances are he wont have much power anyway.

The APT has a move cost of 1/4, so with four reactors she could still make speed-16...

Losing all the warp boxes does make the ship terribly vulnerable to 'frame' hits. That APT was destroyed shortly afterwards by two ph-2 and a non-OL disruptor hit from an E4.

Thanks for the replies.

(Now I'm waiting for damaged Andromedan ships merrily zipping along to safety on battery power alone  )

Batteries don't produce power, but PA panels *can* dump power into them if the Andros are being shot at (and when are they not? :D )

I wasn't being too serious there...I just want Andromedans in FC...

Yes, power is power. There is no differentiation between types of power.

Nice to see people referring to ships as 'she' and 'her' :)

Another SFBism creeping up on me. We never allowed movement after Warp and Imp were gone. Thx for the correction.
