And I didn't make it clear in my original account, but on Turn 2 both the Feds followed the SAL and not the CR, meaning that I had indeed 'grabbed them by the nose'. This was quite an important omission, given my discussion of the tactical plan for Turn 2; one I have now rectified in that posting.
That makes sense. If I were the Feds I think I'd go after one ship with both of mine, since the Pol stands very little chance on its own against either or both of the Orion ships. I love dogfight tactics with ships which can turn well enough to do it - the Klingons also work well like that.
