Sounds like part of the problem may be the ships we are flying. We are at 100 points, and my opponent is flying the Jind DW which has 6 360* Phaser-1 and half of its heavy weapons firing aft.

I think against this opponent I need to simply give up on plasma and switch to direct fire weapons like the Disruptor.

Thanks for the advice!

The local group keeps a big box full of ship stat cards and rules. If these ships aren't official - I wouldn't know. Maybe there's something fishy going on. Hmm.

You can't expect consistent results from un-playtested "homebrew" ship conversions. They can be fun, but GIGO.

Try that scenario again with a "official ship cards only" stipulation, and see how "Mr. speed-32 and can still fire" does in a non-Munchkin ship.

It's probably not as dodgy as it sounds, they're probably homebrew cards that one of your group has made up, by the sound of it.

Those home-brew ship cards could be port-overs from SFB. The BPVs are basically just copied over from there.

If they've got Jindarians, they had to come from SFB, because that's the only place they exist, afaik there aren't any in FC yet.
