If you're cloaked the Gorn/Fed can just go 24 and open the range up or (for the Gorn) just sit on top of you, blast away with carronades/Phasers and then run off when you decloak. Since every 10 hits gives 1 internal AND he can do directed targeting there's a good chance he may destroy one of your torpedoes before they launch...or just whittle away at your engines.USS Enterprise wrote:I knew that, you still might succeed, especially against a Gorn or Fed.

I have never had that much of a problem coming out of cloak. Assuming my weapons are fully armed then what I need to do is maneuver so that I can come up while either the distance is to great to worry about the amount of damage the enemy can do to me or only a fraction of the enemies weapons can target me. Ideally I would wait till I have rearmed my weapons and can come up close to an enemy who fired his weapons at me while I was cloaked and cannot fire again before I can nuke him. This is harder to do in FC than it was in SFB since there is no delay in firing that carries over a turn break. Remember that even though I am probably slower than my opponent can be this means that I am probably going to have a good turn mode and even though the 16 base speed carries till the end of the game turn I can still use acceleration to go faster once I am done coming up.
