Almost no chance I can be on at that time, but I could just leave the computer on and logged in. :D

We failed. We will fail. We're failing. But I'm going to stay logged on anyway. I can only hope...

Guess you'll have to set another day and time and try again.

No more than 5 registered people were on at one time... Maybe it was a silly idea after all :(

True story...

A terrible fire ripped through the University of Notre Dame's main building in the late 1800's, gutting it entirely. Many townspeople and folks from the country came to survey the damage. The general consensus was that it was time to close the school.

When the founder of the institution, now well up in years, came to survey the situation, he heard what everyone else was saying. Instead of giving in to the naysayers and taking the fire as a sign that Notre Dame should be extinguished, he announced that he was wrong for his scope in building the way they did in the first place. He said they didn't build big enough!

Many artisans donated their time and effort to not only completely refurbish the main building, but to also build more buildings. That event firmly established Notre Dame among America's universities.

I recently visited there to help build two cosmic ray detectors. That story was related to us on a tour of the campus.

Piney, don't look at this as a failure. Look at it as finding one method that did not work. It will help direct you toward another path.
Mike

Doesn't seem like there was much activity on here this week anyway for some reason, don't know if people are on vacation or running out of things to say or what. Haven't gotten to play in several months myself so I haven't had much to contribute.

Here in the UK, many people are still on vacation.

For myself, I admit that I forgot, despite having set up multiple reminders to be on at 11pm local. Bah. Sorry, Piney

Oh, it's okay everyone. I can understand there are more important things in life. Heh, 20 years from now it won't matter if we did or didn't beat the record :) Chance will take it's course, and maybe someday we will beat the record simply due to coincidence. It's not a big deal we didn't do it now :)
