Song Parodies

Post by atomic »

It would be nice if there was a tag line in the Star Blog parodies indicating the original song. As in "To the tune of....." Sometimes I have no clue what the songs are :)

Which ones can you not identify, and i'll tell you (assuming it's one I wrote, and while I write all of the ones in CapLog, Jean has been asking other people to write for the blog since she's using up the filks about fourteen times as fast as I write them).

Song of the Kishawk is a parody of the theme song for Red Dwarf.

Jean did tribbles and I have no idea from what.

The Player is I am guessing from The Gambler.

Klingon in the window is from Jean. No clues.

If I could start the war = If I could turn back time (by Cher, on a battleship)

The BCH is Back = The bacon is Back.

"Klingon in the Window" is a parody of "How much is that doggy in the window?" an old novelty song. I don't know who wrote or sang it.

How Much is That Doggie in the Window:
written by Bob Merrill in 1952.
The best-known version of the song was recorded by Patti Page.

If I could get the instrumental music, I would record "I FOUGHT THE GORN" as a gag song... That one was excellent..

I once set up a deal for a local band to record some of these songs, but they called and said "We got a club gig, we'll call to reschedule" and then never returned calls. Apparently, they made it big and SFU was then beneath them.
