Nah, speed 16 please. FC is still meant to be simpler. Its all those little rules that introduce inconsistencies that evenatually break the camels back (1 move then 2 then 1, but this other fighter is 2,2 1 or whatever).Mike wrote:If fighters are going to be BoM anyway (where more complexity is the rule), why not port them over as close to what they are in SFB?
In this case they would move during subpulses 2 and 4 of even-numbered impulses and only during subpulse 4 of odd-numbered impulses.
[edit] Also you'd have to start introducing extra rules to handle the speed change per impulse - is it 8/8+ or 16/16- etc or just '12', which would be important for order of move. Adding in carriers/fighter variants is making it 'more complex', going as far as changing the basics of FC like that is getting to the point of why bother with FC at all IMO.

OK, a little background.
The Romulan G-I/II/III is the Pl-F fighter. The version on the SSD (which you would only know about if you had the SSD) is the G-II. It is speed 12. I am saying to use the G-III as the base, which is speed 15.
The Romulan G-S/SF/FSF is the Pl-D fighter. The version on the SSD (ditto) is the G-SF. It is speed 12. I am saying to use the G-FSF, which is speed 15.
In both cases, the speed is indeed rounded up to 16, but that is from speed 15, not 12.
Simple writeups:
G-III: spd-16, 12 damage points, 1xPh-3 FA, 1xPl-F FA; 8 Point Value
G-FSF: spd-16, 10 damage points, 2xPh-3 FA, 2xPl-D; 10 Point Value
Yes, the SP-B has 16 fighters. It can carry either 8+8 or all G-FSF. It cannot carry all G-III. Other relevant rules earlier in the thread.
