Sorting ship cards

Is it recommended to sort ship cards by Race then Point Value? Trying to organize.

I thought I recently read a topic about this, but could not find it by searching. I apologize if this has been discussed elsewhere as I suspect.

From what I get the ones that put them in folders have them by Empire --

Many then sort them by Point Value -- Others by Class ---

Up to what you like --

As an old SFB player...

I have all of mine in sheet protectord in half size binders.
Then the empires are in the binders in SFB "R" order...

Generics are first (SFB rule R1)
Federation next (SFB rule R2)
That fills binder one...
Binder two starts with Klingons (R3)...
Romulans (R4)
Binder three: Kzinti (R5) and so on.

Inside the individual Empire sections, ship cards are sorted alphabetically (again, by SFB Class designation)
Federation: BC... CA... CF... CL... CS... CW... DD... DN... etc.

Of course, there is no wrong way to sort them - as long as you can find them.
