New Klingon Decals

Post by Starfighter Decals »

Once these get back from the printer, all of the rest of the Klingon Decals will be discontinued. Hopefully by early Summer. This was the last part of the next sheet being sent to Cartograf in the upcoming days. Package will contain 2 identical sheets plus a Painting and Placement guide. MSRP is $10. Markings for the DN, C-7, D-6/7 (2X), Tug, D-5, Frigate and Escort classes will be included. Dropped from the artwork is the weapon hardpoints and Gold Sensor/Scanner dish. Sheet is 6" X 1".

The Alps printing is slowing being phased out due to the increase cost (Carts continue to spiral upwords), Decal paper now being printed in Asia (Causing quality Control issues beyond belief), and I need the limited time for more profitable ventures.

Thank you for your continued support!

Decals at the printers

Post by Starfighter Decals »

Klingon Decals will be here in 3-6 weeks. Last call for D-6/D-7 and Squadron Box 2. These will be replaced by SFD-10 and SFD-11 (Klingon Lettering).

Romulan sheet is next. May include Gorn Insignia/Lettering (similar colors)

Nicely done, Mark...

I thought about you last night when I had to go look up something in P&K. I wish he'd update that as new Apis finds have changed things.

Forgive me if the way to order/purchase these is obvious, but how does one get their Klingon hands on a set of these?

P&K is a book that Mark and I have both read. It's in a scientific field where new discoveries are constantly changing old theories. Apis is, well, a certain animal, and for off-topic reasons provides a way to make a guess at dates in ancient history over a period of centuries. Since the time the book was written, more Apises have been found, which changes the data used to construct the theory expounded by P&K, making that theory less likely to be true, and another theory more likely (by default). I was wishing out loud that the author of P&K would update P&K which was written over a decade ago. With new stuff found every year, constructed theories in that field tend to rise and fall about as fast as Omega empires.

Thanks for the link. Pretty impressive stuff there.

Does anyone have experience using these and care to share their opinion?

I have not used the silk-screened versions of the decals, but I have used many, many of Marks Federation decals ... specifically hull numbers, saucer rings, and ship names.

I've never had a bit of trouble with his merchandise, although recently I've begun to use more of my own work.

You can check out hte Federation ships in the galley indicated in my signature for examples of Marks' Federation decals.

I have used both the original and the silk screened decals advertised with excellent results.

I have used Klingon, Kzinti, Lyran and silkscreened Federation all with excellent results. The Klingon ones even held their color really well against a background hull color of dark olive green.

I plan to use Romulan and Gorn in the next few weeks.
I am mostly done with Klingons but I will probably order at least one set of silkscreened for future use.
