Pricing question on used Minis
A guy on Bartertwon has a bunch of Romulan Hawk type ships he's willing to sell for 25% off and free shipping. I'm wondering if this is a good deal or just a fair one?
Will is correct. If those minis are unpainted or better yet - still in the pack, then its a good deal.
If they're painted; however, then it's probably not such a great deal. Stripping and cleaning and repriming/painting takes a lot of time and that time factor should be a part ofthe equation when determining value.

Last month a guy had 126 ships plus Captains Rule books on Ebay -- no one took them at the price he wanted, he put up some of them (Gorns) but the price there was a bit steep also --
He may have gone to Bartertown, since I recall he had some painted Romulans and a few in the packages --
Personally, with the amount of mini's that continue to be put on ebay with fairly low prices, anything over 50% of cost (painted or in package) is above the going rate --

The mini's the guy has on bartertown are basically 25% off list with free shipping. Not new/in the pack and there are a few extra engines he'd toss in. I'd go no more than 50% of retail for used; the last batch of ISC that I picked up were $2.75/ship including shipping.
I'll keep looking...sometimes there are deals on eBay. Lately there are not a lot of used miniatures on eBay just new ones.

According to my wife, "That's a good thing - cause now I'm not buying as many ebay specials."djdood wrote:Yeah, that darn FedCom game kindof increased demand and soaked a lot of the used minis out of the market
Of course, now I have to buy all of the Fed Comm stuff adn purchase the minis new from ADB, so...

One more... No way. It's got to be at least 3 or it's not worth having. That's one to paint... one to damage and paint (for substitution purposes during combat)... and a third to blow-up and paint (for the end of the battle)djdood wrote:Heh. Fate permitting, that FedEx mini might survive and be available at some point. One more to buy
And then about 16 more so I can paint them up in captured colors for each race, followed by 16 more (to paint captured and damaged) and 16 more to blow-up and paint in captured colors.
heck, that's 48 FedEx minis for me alone. I hope SVC's not listening in right now! hehehehe!
Oh yeah, and one more FedEx mini to paint in UPS brown... just because it'll be cool!

You could try the UK's version.
"Federation Commander: Post Office Wars"
Watch in amazement as fleets of red freighters collect your mail, deliver it to the wrong place, collect it back again later and bash it around a bit before taking it to a depot that only opens on Feb 29 every 3rd year, and then goes on strike so you can't get anything you want anyway.

Nothing is quite as persuasive as a disruptor pistol on slow burn and a rotisserie......
