Having trouble getting the demo to let me target test ship

I have the demo client, and set up a new game (Federation Commander)

I put two pieces on the board then allocated energy. When it comes time to fire during the offensive weapon phase I cannot pick a system to use or choose a target in the drop down window.

In the video tutorials for the client the target was automatically filled in for the demonstrator but I am not seeing that. Also is there a manual for FED COM and not just SFB for the client?

You can only target ships you do not control.

You control both ships since you placed both of them on the map and did not transfer control of either.

Unfortunately, there is not a separate manual for FC Online.

I see. So how do I give control of the Klingon when playing by myself? In the tutorial on the website he did it somehow but never mentions it in his setup. So I guess I mean how do I make that ship hostile for a test game?

I'm trying to make sure I grasp this as I want to throw some money at the game for full client and have my friend get it also but I need to explain this stuff to him

Could you register as two different people in different browser windows and control both ships that way?

If you want to play with a two sided battle with one person, login using the "Authenticated Mode". This will let target any ship. Even yourself.
