Purchasing Ship cards

Post by bcantwell »

Howdy,

I'm new to FC and was wanting to clear up the relationship of the different products in terms of ship cards.

I'm almost entirely interested in playing using miniatures (and have 20 or so Starline 2500 models as of now that get used to play various other games) and recently grabbed the reference rulebook PDF as a low cost way to jump in (along with the generously provided collection of ship cards on the Commander's Circle).

So if I want to get the laminated ship cards but have minimal interest in the map boards, counters, etc. What is the best way to go about it? Do the boosters have just the cards in the associated set (e.g. Boosters 1-3 and Klingon Border)? more than what's in the set? less?

I should be able to figure this out from the website, but it's obviously still not clear to me.

Thanks in advance

You can buy individual ship cards here: http://store.starfleetstore.com/merchan ... Code=02-15

Ship cards found only in boosters can only be gotten by buying the booster.

[Cross-posted with Jean]

The boosters for the early products are primarily additional copies of ships from the associated product (multiples are a good thing, for small ships like cruiser, destroyers and frigates, etc.). The game products provide counters for those multiples (counters you won't be using).

There would usually be one ship in the booster that is unique and not in the main product. Things like the command cruiser variants, etc.

Later on, some of the boosters ended up being collections of unique ships and fleshed out the variety from the core product.

ADB does sell packages of the ship cards from the boxed "Border" and folio "Attack" products as a "spare part":

All 16 of the laminated Ship Cards from Federation Commander:: Klingon Border.

Just the five Ship Cards from the 16-Ship Card set in Federation Commander: Klingon Border that are not included in Boosters #1, #2, and #3.

All 16 of the laminated Ship Cards from Federation Commander:: Romulan Border.

Just the five Ship Cards from the 16-Ship Card set in Federation Commander: Romulan Border that are not included in Boosters #7, #8, and #9.

...and so on.

On the ADB store, just click the "Spare Parts" link that appears once you have clicked on a product.

Missed the packs of just ship cards in the spare parts. That's very much what I was looking for.

One more question.

Are the various spare part items available through retail stores or only through the web store?
