Favorite Tactics for Mid-Speed Cruiser Engagements?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been playing more cruiser vs cruiser matches recently and noticed that mid-speed engagements often feel harder to manage than either very fast or very slow approaches.

I’m curious how other players handle:

Speed management during the first few turns
When you prefer to commit to a turn versus maintain forward pressure
How often you intentionally decelerate for positioning advantages
Common mistakes newer players make in maneuver battles

Would love to hear examples from actual games or favorite ship matchups.
