Black Nebula is a private security outfit described in Captain's Log #41 on page 15. You can be more marine-like if you want, but you could also have experience serving on an armed freighter. Gunner/Marine, maybe?

There's been cutbacks on the Klingon Front. All the hiring is shifting to the Romulan border since the Treaty of Smarba.

They had that stuff in a box when you checked out of the hospital.

Random violence is so common on Donjebruche, the bureaucrats can't keep up with it!

Flex:

Your character has some abilities common to each of the other characters. Some overlap is fine, but you may not want to upstage them too badly in their specialties.

Hmm....

You need some kind of schtick. You picked Lecherous. The group is lacking in social graces outside of Intimidation-14.... What if you went the James Bond "Face Man" type route and piled on Luck, Good Looks, Sex Appeal, etc. That would really set you apart from this motley crew.... :D

Is there some way to buy connections and contacts in GURPS. Maybe as an Ally Group or something...? Somebody that had some friends in various high places instead of so many enemies would be useful. Contacts. The guy who has "old buddies" just about everywhere. That could be a back-up stick in line with the Social Monster design approach.

(You know who Face Man is, right?)

Sweet. Thanks, I wouldn't even have looked without your help. :D

And yes- I like the social idea. Don't usually go that route, but face-man is good. Gotta see that movie... ;) Need tot weak on the sheet a little for it to work. IQ I think is the point there, I might see if I can do some shifting around- I just don't necessarily want him smart, because he's charismatic.

Yes there is an advantage called contacts in the characters book, Ally is also available, in the same book.

Yup. Might even get 'Ally Group' or something when I work on it. Just not right now.. I'm beat, naptime. Maybe a little later today.

Aside from Rokerig, is there anyone else I should ask the klingons about?

Captain Jack's Mental Notes:
X'al Fen - dead.
Tarsh is possibly Karn Cheyeng - Dead.
Seems like Tarsh wanted that data chip to get to Muankaal, a powerful klingon merchant. Maybe we should do that?
X'al Fen was going to meet with Tarsh, and then Rokerig on the night he was killed.

X'al Fen had a object hidden in his drawer. It's possible he was going to sell it to Muankaal via Tarsh and then take the $40k to Rokerig to pay a debt.

Muankaal probably has money, and we're pretty broke. I wonder if Muankaal would give me a small Free Trader ship in exchange to get the item + data and to get me off this rock and away from him...

Wow, there's a bug in the program if I ever saw one. Punch = ouch, kick = *poof!*

Gotta see what I can do about that, I didn't really double check any of the math so I appreciate that. Using a new character sheet, I might email the guy who made it. He did a real nice job, I bet I did something wrong, or else he'd probably like to know it's got a bug.

Other than the nuclear powered kick, though...?

Drop the computer skills so you can beef up your weak 1-point social skills. (You distrust technology, right?) Also... pick some other 1-point skills and drop them-- 10 or 11 just isn't that useful. A variety of 12's (and higher) in social areas can actually accomplish something.

"Beautiful" might should be handsome.

2 points for the Fed contact?! What a bargain!

Heh. Weapon adaption.... Hmm.... Nice trick there....

Did that, put the computer stuff in before I decided on that. HOwever, it doesn't mean he doesn't use tech, just that he believes social interaction superior and will likely have backups of any tech gear he will miss using.

"Beautiful" might should be handsome.
Hmm.. Imagine that, level 2 in GCA is beautiful, and level 3 is handsome for the same cost. Who knew? :P

I figured he wouldn't be as available or as willing to part with knowledge, so I bought him pretty low. I upped the cost so he won't ever turn me in, though. The underworld as an entity are pretty tight with me, though. I hope we stay in this town a lot...

Yeah. One of my favs, I figured that out with a sniper that I wanted to get a few other weapons, like pistols. One of the nice things doing it that way, is you're actually using the other skill, so all of the techniques cross over at full cost, too. Not that I got any, but it's one of those GM calls that might be too over-the-top for just one point. Good for cross-tech, too, it works for switching from beams to guns. Has to be the same specialty for that, though, rifles to rifles, pistols to pistols.

Work/life has been crazy the past couple of days, so it's been good timing for y'all to be posting intermittently.

That... and I can't tell what you guys want to do! :P

What's the plan again?
