Flax, we don't have the license to do anything but the unwrinkly head Klingons. As a result that is all we are allowed to support on the BBS.

Sorry about that.

OK, I understand the copyright issues.

The Klingons you mean, are the more human-looking ones? The ones that look almost like Vulcans or Romulans?

How odd. I always thought the wrinkly ones were the primary, er default, or something. Even when I played SFB a lot, I never gave it much thought, but the explanation from Paramount or somewhere of having genetically engineered some to look more like humans, and fit in better as spies, was just off to me.

Anyhow, thanks for letting me know. I fully understand the laws, and appreciate you trying your best to make sure your site isn't in violation. It's even touchier than the sites I help with, we don't have any permissions to speak of that might be revoked.

BTW- TOS means The Original Series? Just guessing here, I don't go on many ST boards.

Hi Flax,

We have the rights to do the Klingons as they showed up in the 1960s TV series. The more "human looking" ones are within our license.

If you look here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1 ... 1728653279 you can find the cover to PD20M Klingons and that will give you "the look". They don't look Vulcans to me, but you can see what those look like as well.

TOS does stand for The Original Series.

Now, back to your game. If you see a purple butterfly anywhere near, then that is the "WebMom Butterfly" who is following the action ... but working on getting GURPS Feds out so doesn't have time to do anything but watch.

You're currently being escorted back to the rest of the party at Muankaal's request. Unless they dither a lot, you won't get there in time to do something brash that ruins the delicate negotiations.... :P

(Just once I'd like to have a scene where nobody gets punched in the face...!) 8)

Thanks, webmom! :)

Kinda funny when you're likely younger than me, isn't it?

Anyhow, yeah, that's about what I was thinking. Thought they had pointy ears, though. Dressed a lot like the early Romulans. When I was a kid, I used to get them mixed up, because the re-runs weren't in order, and I knew the Klingons had wrinkly foreheads. ;)

Yeah... that's the difference between infocom and GURPS.

Getting points for solving the puzzle and/or moving the plot forward... vs. scoring points only for good role playing.

Meh... the difference is how the GM makes it. I give out XP for the things you say infocom does (whatever that is), but sometimes penalize for not playing the character. Although I do allow the players, usually, to tweak their characters until they're comfortable first. However, I think I should add, I GM GURPS rarely, and play with people I don't think I need to penalize, so it almost never somes up.

Okay... the next set of investigative actions will be done mondo-rapid style.

Just say what you want to try... I'm maybe make a roll for it... and tell you how it turned out.

We'll see if you can take what turns up and turn it into either partial success or complete success.

Good luck guys.

You also got one point for the prelude scene and three more for episode one. (I can't find where I posted the episode one points, maybe I forgot to mention it.)

Anyway... to summarize:

Marcus Kane: 6 points
Skexis: 6 points
Captain Jack: 7 points
Fred: 3 points

Wasn't there some sort of data device that needed some kind of Klingon reader?
mojo_billbo wrote:Tarsh is fragged. He gave us a data chip that I can't read in my standard federation tricorder. I think Tarsh was a Klingon, not an Andorian.
