That sounds like a plan.
First things first, Captain Jack goes back to his pad and try to lock pick the secret compartment again and again for the drawer.

Marcus will follow. Irritated that Captain Jack just doesn't smash the thing open and get it done with.

Captain Jack reminds Marcus that usually when you smash stuff, it breaks the items inside... "so that will be our plan B."

Attempting to "pick the lock" fails to accomplish anything. There are no openings or mechanisms that you can discern by which you could open the drawer. It appears to be all of one piece. Perhaps a panel made from the same material as the drawer was inserted into it... and then... somehow it was was bonded to the sides at a molecular level. It sounds crazy... but that's all you can imagine....

Marcus sets teh drawer on the ground and smashes his heel into it. Close to the front of the drawer.

As your heel crushes the side of the drawer, you hear a loud crack. Everyone in the room is nearly deafened by a combination of static and a high pitched screaming sound.
The drawer is smashed... and scattered on the floor now are three or four pieces of some sort of fin-like object. The whining sound is replaced by... perhaps it is an awful red-alert siren from a parallel universe. As you recover from your temporary shock, you notice that one edge of the fin has what looks like a red, glowing radiator grill. Gradually over the course of thirty seconds or so, the siren gets quieter while the red glow gets dimmer and dimmer.

"Well I think I broke it! Oh well maybe we can still fetch a bounty on it." He says sarcastically.

Captain Jack states: "Oh great... now it's probably worthless.... What do you want to do now?"

"Look I ain't the brains hear. My skills revolve around hurting people and breaking things. But I think it still might be worth something. Let sget in touch with this Moolkinal guy and see if he knows how to fix it or even wants it. Either way Tarc said to get the data disc to him."
