Please keep the Fed/Klink tactics to the appropriate thread.

I didn't intend to offend anyone, and yes, sometime that tactic is better that the "rolling thunder." But in close dogfigting with a New Klink ( ), and my dad is good at finding ways to do that, the rolling thunder is better. If a sabre-Dancer gets too close, then by all means, smash his ship.

EDIT: Oops, wrong thread, where should I put this?

Pinecone, I've got a player in my group that I'd love to have you play against. He is the ultimately patient sabre-dancer. I've faced his Klingons before and just prayed that he'd get closer than range 20. If there's no tactical reason for a scenario to have a time limit - he's perfectly willing to spend 20 to 30 turns sniping away at your shields until either a) he begins to score more burn through damage than you can repair each turn or 2) you amke a tactical mistake that he feels comfortable capitalizing on or 3) you get tired of him making you play his game and charge into close range and intentionally make the tactical mistake he was waiting for.

Either way, in the 4 years we've been playing this game, and the 28 years we've been playing SFB he's won about 80% of all the games he's been in - against nearly anyone!!!
(when do we get an abbriviation for "Klingon" anyway?)
the unoffically (and much hated by ADB) term is Klinks.
Too bad I'm not in Tenessee... Does he play FCOL?

No he doesn't play FCOL. but he will be at Origins 2009 - if you make it there, I'm sure he'll be glad to play.

I'm even willing to moderate a PBEM game between you and he. If you're interested - I can ask him if he's interested.

I'm sure the crew here on this forum would love to follow another PBEM game.

Well, I'm not sure if I can go, but I'll try.

About the PBEM, I might be able to do that. I'm not much into emaling, but I'll see if it's possible.

Scoutdad: Could you PM me the specifics of how the game is played? I've never done it before but I'd like to try.

OK, I cleaned up this thread to remove the unneeded side conversation.

I did it so that there is (hopefully) no real record of who said what, so no one has to take any of the resultant discussion personally.

Any attempt to continue that discussion here will be deleted.

Can I apologise to pinecone in the event I caused any unnecessary worry? Wasn't my intent, was unaware of his situation and was genuinely curious as to why it seemed like a big deal. Now I know I completely understand and will say no more about it. Sorry, pinecone!

Apology noted and accepted. Thank you.
