Mojo - Nice one - I like that idea a lot. Very much keeps the flavour of the original SFB weapon.
I'm tempted to suggest that if the target had declared EM in the Defensive Fire phase just before the PPD's second impulse of firing, the PPD should re-roll to hit, but that's probably going too far.
