Not to resurrect this here, after SVC weighed in on it, but I did find the reference that I spoke of.
It's here on the painting guide errata listed on the ADB miniatures website, which was originally published in Nexus #10.
No large amounts of data detailing all the colors and squadrons possible, just that the extra color is squadron specific.
