Brigade Models has this bases available:

While Mongoose Games used to make this bases for Babylon 5: A Call to Arms:

I was going to go with Will's route and use the standard hex bases with a small hole drilled at the apex of each angle. Then mount a brass wire in the fighter minis; but John Schneder has hooked me up with a dozen fighter bases... 8)

I just knew I should have been sending more emails to John, telling him how great his minis look...

All kidding aside, drilling some holes in stock bases won't be a big deal for the measly two squadrons of fighters I have. I'll probably prepare 3 bases for each group of 12, to give a little flexibility. That should more than take care of me.

I might steal Dan's magnet magic though. I could stick a flat sheet magnet (the kind people send you to stick their ad on your fridge) under the bases and use steel pins on the fighters instead of brass. Might prevent rattling and weathervaning a bit, and help keep them there during transportation.

If you go with magnets, use the small, disc shaped rare earth magnets that Dan has.

You don't necessarily have to use that specific supplier as they are nearly everywhere.
I have some about 3/16 in diameter that I use in WWI and WWII aircraft games and they should be plenty strong enough to hold a fighter mini on a base.

Yeah, I've got a bunch in a tacklebox. Still haven't found the right project yo use them on yet.

Mongoose fighter bases...D'oh! I've got about a dozen of those somewhere (I never used fighter minis in that game, just the counters).

Problem solved. Thanks for reminding me!

Glad I could help.

See that world? I'm a nice guy even when not specifically trying to be.... so why not cut me some Karmic slack every once in a great while? (Can you tell it was a rough day?)
