During the tournament, Patrick would roll 8 die and 5 seconds later, "That'll be 27 points of damage."

I will be looking at the chart at the same time and saying, "What range are we?"

Yes, I saw the house rule part, but still wondering what size and/or BPV has to do with it? It was a legitimate question, I thought. My point was, we are talking about movement and movement is not strictly tied to BPV and size in every case. Since there is already a mechanism in the rules for resolving the movement even if everything else is the same, why go with a house rule? And, in going with the house rule, why even put BPV (or size) on the table?

Again, curious why this house rule and not "the" rule...

I would say the rule is as it is to keep things simple.

I can foresee players saying, "If we wanted more rules, we would play SFB."
