And we've already started working on Book 3.
ESG's ans Maulers are the current topic of interest between staff members.
We're still looking for another group or two to help play test Lyrans and Hydrans...

Will book 2 also be released as a PDF before its released as a physical book? Will there be a series of revisions/edits/updates like with book 1.2 before a finalized print book version is made?

Don't know about the second until we release it, but I'm guessing so.

Is book 2 a further revision of ACTA 1.2 or is it a supplement to it?

It adds rules and kingdoms. It is not a rewrite, you need 1.2 to use book 2.

Book 2 is an expansion to the game.
It adds additional ships for the existing empires, completes the Tholian and Orion fleets and adds two new empires (Seltorians and Neo-Tholians).
It also adds new ship classes for all empires (Battleships, Police ships, scouts, and commando ships), new weapons, new ship systems, new traits, special actions, and new rules.
As well as over a dozen new scenarios.

Chapters are going to ADB at a stead rate.
Work on ACTSF is often side-tracked by Shapeways requirements or the need to get the new counter sheet content resolved and then printed... but we are moving forward.
