I suggested a rule to Matthew who told me that was the same as his legendary captain rule that he plans to put in the next book.

We're looking at a series of 5 books, one per year, this is only the first. Each book will come with about 60 new minis in various boxes and packs.

The plan is not locked in, and will probably change, but it looks like the book for 2012 will be a combination of Tholian Attack, Distant Kingdoms, and Battleships Attack, plus a few oddball new ships.

The three empires in W&P would be split up with one each in the 2013, 2014, and 2015 books.

But again, that's a very "pencil" plan that might be subject to change.

In terms of splitting up the W&P empires, I wouldn't particularly mind seeing the Vudar go somewhere else (perhaps mixed in with whichever book gets the Hydran Attack ships?) but I do think the ISC and Andromedans really work best when presented together.

When you say 5 books, is that "5 books which will be explicitly tied in to FC modules before Mongoose go their own way into the rest of the SFU" or "5 books and that is the end of the line"?

Gary: I'd guess that if sales are high enough to warrant 5 more books, this is what we'll see:

5 more books (1 per year) to get us to where Fed Comm is now. After that, there will be five more years of Fed Comm development to catch-up on... after that; 3 or 4 more years of Fed Comm development to catch-up on... after that; 2 or 3 more years of Fed Comm development to catch up on... after that, 1 or 2 more years of Fed Comm development to catch up on.

That means it's be 12 to 15 years before we really need to worry about running out of new stuff to port over.

With all the suppliments to playtest, will have to order cases of Red Bull and Mountain Dew to keep up.

Also looks like us playtesters are going to be locked up for a few years to cover it all.

And with a year to get the sixty ships done, it won't be the crazy rush it was the first time, we can hope...

Lordy, I hope so. That was fun and inspiring work to be involved in, but the pace was not healthy for anyone involved.

Question about reloading in ACTA: is that a special order, or something that happens if you dont' use a special order. In other words, can you reload while cloaked?

Reloading is a special action. You can reload while cloaked, butnot while cloaking.
If you intend to cloak / reload then you must:

Engage Cloak on turn x
reload on turn x+1

On x=2 or any subsequent turn you may disengage claok and fire.

All I want to know is if there will be the Federation Destroyer made in Starline 2500 scale? I really like the new ships and would love to see the DD (or DDG, DDP, SC) in that scale.

The DD is one of the Franz Joseph Designs ships.
I'm sure it will eventually reach Starline 2500, but due to the way the licensing agreement with FJD works, all of the FJD ships will be in the same booster.
That will simplify the financial arrangements dramatically.
