Donjebruche Campaign: In Character
Moderators: mjwest, Albiegamer
Captain Jack:
You get a good nights sleep.
Fred:
You do *not* get a good night's sleep. [HT roll, 10 or less. For the... uh... performance. (3d6=6)] Egads! Well... um... let's just say you made a really good impression with the Cygnan. It is an epic Sean Connery evening. Congrats.
Skexis:
You don't go home with any of the ladies, but you do learn the Cat Girls' names: Naoko, Atsuko, and Michie. They have a ship and you are on good terms with them. [Too bad you can't dance, though-- sorry.]
Marcus Kane:
You try to listen in. [Per is 12 or less... plus one more roll for... uh... no reason. (3d6=12, 3d6=12)] Woah.... Huh. You start to listen in, but the Cygnan somehow stumbles into you and spills her drink on you. As you go to clean yourself up, you have kind of a bad feeling about this, but you're not 100% sure she's the "figure in black". You come back and they're gone.
Next... the nomad quarter!

(OOC: Crit success! Way to go! Just watch, I bet I don't get another one. Ever. Oh, well, it was good for me.
)
He will try to see what she does, and if he can get het to let something slip that either shows she can't be involved, or is suspicious enough to not-quite-prove she is. Of course, he's a bit pre-occupied, but there's no reason he can't have fun, too.
The next morning, he hooks back up with guys. "I dunno. I spent all night trying to see if she was a spy, and I'm just wore out."

Marcus irritatingly says,"I tried to get close to her to see if I recognized her voice and she conviently spilled a drink on me and left with you. I am still suspicious. Glad you had fun but I am afraid we can't trust her. I say we just quit pussy footing around ...No offense Skexis....and question her...I'll do it if you don't have the stomach for it!"
[OOC #1 <Laughing> Ah, sorry Marcus. She's so unbelievably cute, even you don't get angry when she spills a drink on you. Your natural suspicions are transformed into goosebumps and you are carried away with the half-hint that she might have a crush on you as she admires your rugged good looks from a distance. Utter nonsense, yes, and you wake up the next day back to your good old grouchy self.]
[OOC #2 Nitpick-- I'm pretty sure six is technically only a crit success for extremely high skill levels, sorry. In this case, *practically* being a critical success is still pretty durn successful. In any event, the Sean Connery approach is far superior to the Roger Moore's.]
Where was I now....
Oh yeah.
The party is reunited in the nomad section.
There is a slum, a corral for smelly riding beasts, and a market. The nomads have some pretty good desert survival gear if you can get over species differences.
Ugh. The smell is terrible, tough. It's got to be those riding beasts. They are about three times as big as a Terran horse. Wow... here comes one now... it's coming toward you at break neck speed.

"Sorry. I asked her some things, but you really expect her to say 'Yes you caught me I'm a murdering assassin just getting close to you so I can keep tabs on you.'? Anyhow, I'm pretty convinced it was just a random encounter. I like that sort of coincidence, but coincidence I think it was. Besides, you can't expect her to defect to you, when she's got the best there ever was," he says with a big grin and a wink.
Dodge. "Smelly things, ain't they?"
(OOC: Crits are 3 & 4, 5 if skill 15, 6 if skill 16. I have skill 16 in Sex Appeal, but not sure what the roll was against. Either way, I'm all smiles. Go Sean!)

(OOC Again: The infamous Erotic Art skill is at "Average" difficulty... and can be based on IQ, DX or HT at the GM's option. <snicker>)
(OOC: Okay. You all have the choice of how we do this. Either invent a scene element-- event, encounter, whatever-- and I'll maybe work it into the story... or else... just declare a search/investigative type action and we'll roll the dice and move on. So... if you like improvisational *role* playing, kickstart it and I'll play along. If you want the story to actually irritated by how things are dragging, then just say "I use my XXX skill" or whatever. Vote with your feet!)
