Our previous, FLGs used to do that.
On the Friday after Thanksgiving, we'd have Turkey Wars.
One of the prime events was a Battletech Samash-and-Bash event. Everyone entered a painted 'mech (of course, they weren't painted to Mike Raper standards...)
The owner would provide the anvil nd sledgehammer.
After every round, the winner got to place the defeated mech on hte anvil and smash away...
Great fun, that was!

Yeah, I just figured up the counter mix, not how many would be needed for actual play...

As for the sledgehammer rule... we once experimented with the "blow torch" rule when playing WH40K. We quit when we set the gaming table on fire. Not just char and smoke but actual flaming full on fire.

The things we do when we are young and foolish.

Now that we are older and foolish we do things like actually contemplating building full fleet rosters in miniatures. It should be possible to figure out the full ship roster by name of the various FedCom scenarios and convert and paint a mini for each ship required...make a good starting point for F&E it would.

Ok, I thought we were collectively pulling each others' legs about $2500 worth of minis, but if you want to buy that many, I will honor the discount.

Klingon Invasion: something I want to do. It won't be this year. That's not a promise for next year or the year after.

I do like the battleforce board with minis idea.
