When it comes to in-game play, I don't think I've had enough on-table experience in the last while to be able to say which navy's designs I like flying best.


I can talk about the background reasons why I like this or that faction, but that is not quite within the scope of this thread...

You mean based on the show, history, exc.

As far as I go I have no problem with that info being given so long as you state that it is based on out-of game elements.

Thanks for the offer, but I feel it might be more aptly placed in a separate 'which faction(s) do you like the background for' thread, or something.

Small nitpick: Tholian and Seletorian are not listed as options.

But other is.

In SFB, Klingons...but in FC, Orions. My second pick would be ISC.

So, mine was only the 2nd vote for the Lyrans, huh? I have only so far played 3 of the races in the game, my choices go like this:

1. Lyrans
2. Klingons
3. Feds

My problem with the Feds (and the plasma races, too, I suppose) is I don't have the patience to wait around and creep at speed 8 while my torpedoes are arming. But, I'll give them, and the others chances yet, so I am sure my list will change in the future.

Yes but soon you won't be the one who has to creep... Just be patient

So far, my favorite is still ISC. Love the whole eschelon concept. After that, it's probably the Klingons and then probably the Hydrans.

At least now I don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I was the only vote for the Lyrans for the longest time...

For FC:

1. Romulans
2. Feds
3. Klinks
4. Orions (Yeah, I am weird)
5. Kzinti
6. Gorn
7. Hydrans
Haven't played with any others yet, am working on getting some more products. (As much as the wife will let me)

For pure enjoyment factor, I'd probably go with the Gorn. Keep in mind that I don't own all the expansions, so if I don't list a race, I don't have those ships!

Orions and Tholians are kind of a wildcard, I've used em but I've only got one ship for each, so I have minimal experience (Twice as much the Tholians, I don't even have heavy weapons on it) The other races I am absolutely clueless.

Now, my rankings for a Tournament (In which I were competetive and wanted to win) my list changes drastically

1. Fed

2. Klingon

3. Kzinti

4. Gorn

5. Romulan

So my list changes drastically here, the Gorn and Romulans, my top 2 for enjoyment (Though I enjoy all races) are now at the bottom, The Klingons and Kzinti have made a slight jump, and the Feds come from #4-#1 due to a high amount of experience with them.

when andros show up they'll be my favorite under feds..

As a group I enjoy the Orion pirates although they have several subset races. As a specific race I like the Klingons ,,,,the B10 is so cool!!!
