Three day warning!

Final ship selections are due on Thursday, February 10th.

I still need to hear from Brazouck, Patrick Doyle and storeylf.

If you are holding out until the 10th in the hope of a ship you want being added to FC Online, please let me know you are doing so. Otherwise, I may be badgering you about submitting your ship selections.

Also, I will be on FC Online starting at 7:30 PM US Central Standard Time this Wednesday, February 9th. I plan to stay on for a couple of hours. If anyone has not yet tested out their ship selections or needs more practice with using the client, this will be a good opportunity for you to do so with a live opponent.

Last call for ship selection changes and additions!

Final ship selections are due TOMORROW, Thursday, February 10th.

I still need to hear from Brazouck. I have emailed him a reminder in case he has not recently been on the forum.

Also, as I indicated earlier in the week, I will be on FC Online tonight (Wednesday, February 9th) starting at 7:30 PM US Central Standard Time. I plan to stay on for a couple of hours. If anyone has not yet tested out their ship selections or needs more practice with using the client, this will be a good opportunity for you to do so with a live opponent.

Thanks,

Jim

Also, make sure that the FCOL Client and ship library is up to date (there have been a few recent updates).

To update the Client: From the main client window select Help --> Check for Updates. If there are updates available, click OK to download. Once they are downloaded and applied, you must log out of the client and then completely close it down in order for the updates to take affect.

To update the FCOL Library: From the main client window select Tools --> Library and be sure the FC tab is selected. Click on Update List, then Yes to check for updates (it will go through and check for any needed library updates). Once it is done checking, click Download (it will download any needed library updates). Finally, click Close and you are good to go.

Thanks,

Garrett

gar1138: To clarify, only the C would be Middle Years only; the POL woudl be available in the Main Era also.

storeylf: According to (5L8) in RRB6a, Phaser-Gs are listed among the "foreign weapons" which the WYN fleet has limited access to.

Ah that might be why I haven't seen it - isn't the tourney using 5th edition rules though.

I thought it was based on the release date of the v6 rulez.

point 1 in OP says 5th edition, presumably so people don't have to go rushing out and buying the rules straight away.

You're right. looks like it is 5th Edition, unless opponents both choose to use the 6th edition rules.
GM Comment: In my judgment it would be unfair to require everyone to purchase a copy of the new rulebook so soon after its release. Therefore, the use of the Sixth Edition rulebook will be optional. Note that it is anticipated that the Sixth Edition rulebook will contain adjustments to the rules for Plasma G/S/R and Particle Cannons. As such, if you play a match using the Sixth Edition of the rulebook, the special tournament rules below for Plasma G/S/R and Particle Cannons will be superseded by the rules for those weapons that are found in the Sixth Edition of the rulebook .

I allowed it for three reasons:

1. The mount is available in the FC Online client.

2. The ship choices for the Wyn in the client are the most limited of any empire that has enough ship types to be in the tournament.

3. I did not realize it was missing from RRB5 (my bad).

Consistent with the tournament rules regarding the use of RRB6, if an opponent in a particular match objects to the use of the Ph-G mount, I'll ask Tamari to play with a Ph-1 for that mount for that match (at a lower total squadron point value of 446).

However, let me say that if the Communique coming out tomorrow provides this information (as well as the other key RRB6 clarifications/additions), I will be proposing to include its updates in the default version of the game rules unless someone objects to doing so. However, that is only because those updates would be available to everyone for free.

Tamari has graciously switched his CA's Ph-G mount out for a Ph-1.

Brazouck has submitted his ship selection.

This is the last day for players to make any last minute adjustments to their squadrons.

Please check above to make sure I have your squadron correctly specified.
