I like this look but remember that is not an "approval" just a quick glance. "Approval" takes a longer look by a panel of people.

We're probably going to get the store open next week and we're busy hoop jumping right now.

I'd like to point out that Lyran impulse engines on the bigger ships are equal lateral hexagons, so when working on the "look" for your ships keep a clipboard with the piece parts that are common to the fleet. If your vision is to have flattened impulse engines, keep that thread constantly sized and shaped for every ship drawn.

From what I've seen so far you should have a good starter file of parts: impulse, ESGs, co-P2/3 mounts, disruptors, bridge, small warp, and Aztec-ing.

I've been thinking on how I would do the Lyran since I got my Drafting AAS 6 years ago before I got sick. I'm rooting for you, good work.

Good to hear so far. I'm considering dropping some of the aztecing on the rear hulls to make room to show tractor emitters and APR radiators.

Here's a rear view with the APR radiators added. Still working out what the tractor beam and mech link should look like.

Check the art that Adam Turner did for SFB module R11 ("Support Ships"). He depicted mech-link tractors as flat shapes (can't recall if square or hexagon), with some greeblie detailing inside their periphery.

Ah, cool. Thanks much.

With thanks to djdood:

I'm not quite satisfied with the phaser placement on there yet.

And I'm thinking of something for the nacelle pylon. Maybe just a strip down the trailing edge.

My muse needed a break from Lyrans.

Qari T-80 Command Cruiser. 68mm overall length, 35mm wide.

Yeah. My brain is a terrible, terrible place.

ETA: More pics.

Decided to spice up the warp nacelles a bit....

My only criticism of the Qari ship is that all of the phasers are on the top of the ship. It literally has no weapons facing the entire hemisphere of the ship. While this is irrelevant to the game mechanics, but "in reality" at least some phasers should be mounted on the underside.

Also, what does your muse think of the Borak?

It is a bit of a flaw, but a bottom placement would have issues with the warp nacelles being right in the firing arc. If the bottom was expanded the way my first sketch of the Lyrans was (which I think it might be, I'll have to recheck the art in C4) that might do it. Hmmm. Maybe on a widely bevelled corner, to give the L+RA/R+RA arcs of the rear phasers... Or just duplicate them top and bottom, but then you're showing more than are on the SSD.

Borak... hrm. Don't think I've had a chance to see them yet, to be honest. Which module are they from? Triangulum, Magellanic?

(ETA) So, okay, yeah, it -does- show an expanded bottom. Looks like the Ph-3's are there, and since they have a 360 arc... yeah, I think we can do this. Maybe work in a rotating turret while I'm at it.

Now with a belly, and ventrally mounted phaser-3's and tractor emitters.
