The two entities to which you are referring do not exist in the Star Fleet Universe.

Read Garth Getgen's extremely un-official story, Timelines for a great explanation as to why, in a myriad of alternate universes this phenamenon exists.
(sorry - I don't have the link bookmarked at work - I'll have to edit this post to supply it later)

Where is that story?

And of course, if that isn't "Big E" and "A certain Brash Young Captain," Then the CA had better run.

due to the mention of certain, specific personalities in the story.. it can not be published by ADB. Garth has it posted on his website. I do not have that site bookmarked on my work computer... but once I get home, I will be more than happy to respond to your query with a PM containing the link.

Actually, my story is set right at the start of the General War, and the "brash young captains" event happened several years earlier .............

Sgt G,
Scoutdad mentioned that you have a website, I can't find it.
Reading Timelines made me feel like I was watching an episode. Nice!

Though there's been at least one reference to the Big E in a Captain's Log. I believe it was in "The Klingons (by the Klingons)" or some such similar where one event was written from the Federation's point of view and the Klingon's point of view.

One of the lines was something like:

"Kosnett couldn't believe he was assigned to this boring mission. Why couldn't he just do whatever he wanted, like that spoiled brat on the E...

'Captain!'

"

I believe there's one reference to Kosnett being the 'second most famous Captain in Star Fleet' and since we've never been introduced to the first in a scenario or story... :)

Both of those references were very indirect. Garth's story is not an indirect reference, but rather a direct use. A huge difference.

...the "E..." could've been the Exeter...

If you look in Klingon border under the CA names, you'll see the Applepies there.

That was the Veggietales version, for those who don't know  .

I was gonna suggest Endeavour.

(Since in the story in question, the line ended with 'En...' as opposed to just 'E...' - I happened to be reading that CL today! Talk about a coincidence.)

So are we still able to upload our own avatar? I just made one (http://fav.me/d3igqgd) that I'd like to use. There shouldn't be any copyright issues since I modeled every thing in it myself.

The above link is full sized, but I have a file that fits the required size already made.

The television shows and movies are good but I just like the characters and stories in the Starfleet Universe better. SU just has a more "real" feel to it. The other cool thing about it is that you can make up your own character (captain) for the SU that is better than any of those shown on TV or the movies. I've gotten so bad with that line of thinking that when I do see certain TV shows or movies, I think to myself, "there's no way something that silly would happen in the Starfleet Universe". What would rule would be to have a series of fiction novels set in the SU!
