They are not Klingon as far as Captain Jack can tell. They don't look too old. They must be local, native handicrafts of some kind.

While the native continues to grovel, Skexis notices sounds from down the hall. Very slight... but there may be someone else here.

Just Chaulk it up to Marcus's Fiercesome Stare! It's hard to turn it off....

Marcus says,"Look old one...If we wanted you dead you'd be dead already. Can you help us track down your grandson? Or tell us a name of a decent tracker who can? It is very important we find him. People have died because of something he knows and we want to make sure he isn't the next victim." #turns of Fiercesome stare# Waits impatiently for a response.

As the fiersome stare goes from ambient to full power... the native completely loses it.

In the incoherent babble that follows, all you can gather is that he doesn't know anything, he can't help you, and please please please please don't hurt him.

A crowd of curious natives is beginning to form outside in the slum area. (The old guy is pretty loud.)

"I guess we're done here, he tells the others. "Crowd control, unless we all leave," he says by way of eplanation as he turns away.

Unless everyone leaves, he will talk to the crowd.

"Old fella doesn't seem to understand us very well. Apparently, there's something we said that sounds like something he's scared of. Nothing to see here," he says, as he starts trying to shoo the crowd away.

Having another idea that's sure to scare away the entire crowd, he starts in with a pitch. "Banock's Emporium, half off all day! Going out of business sale, Garity Row in the District! Unbeatable deals, up to 70% off on selected merchandise!"

He keeps on like this if the crowd seems to thin.

Captain Jack asks Marcus, "Come on Marcus, set your phaser for stun and let's go search this place incase anyone is hiding under the floorboards or something..."

Marcus says,"Gladly..." Pulls his phaser sets it for high stun and Follows Captain Jack.

Captain Jack and Marcus proceeds to search the residence carefully and methodically for Rocky hiding somewhere...

Skexis moves silently in the direction of the sound he heard.

Marcus will also search for the source of the noise. He says,"Someone stay behind and watch the old one. He might still know something useful."

"Right," he nods as they go to search. He keeps one eye on gramps.

"He knows half off is only half the deal! Seventy percent and more, the clock is ticking! Free gifts if you spend enough, only at Bannock's, only for thirty six hours! Hurry in now!"

Okay....

The short version.

You find nothing in the nomad quarter.

You don't cause a riot.

You all go back to your pad and turn in, frustrated.

Late that night... Captain Jack wakes in the middle of the night to find a knife at his throat.

Hovering over him is a slinky reptilian form...!

"Don't move... and don't cry out," the form hisses.

Captain Jack realizes that he is in a precarious position!

"Tell me... why did you kill my grandfather, you human filth...?"

What does he say in his defense...?

Captain Jack starts talking: "grandfather? When did this happen? I haven't killed anyone in the past few years.... "

In a flash of hyperawareness, you realize that the dimunutive cyclopean reptile is female.

"He was just an old man," she says, "what do you think you have gained by killing him...? Tell me! Now!"

Captain Jack stammers: "What are you talking about? I'm completely at a loss as to who you're referring too? Are you sure you got the right human, we all do look alike..."

"Look, I'm not sure what's going on here, but if you get the knife off my throat, we can talk about this and try to figure out what's going on... it's not like I'm going to be able to escape you."
