Getting ready for a small convoy battle tomorrow. I managed to finish the 'target' ship just in time. Here is my take on the F5T:

The rust lines really show up in the pictures, but are much more subtle when you just look at it. I had thought about making decals for the pod, writing the text in just a word processor and using a Klingon font to make it look legit, but I kept tripping myself up by typing in "Keep your hands off our stuff!" and "Come near this pod and we will burn your home planet to the ground."
Maybe someday I will put lettering on there, but for now I'll just leave it as a rusty cargo pod.

It never made any difference before since the Fed CA and CC were the same mini, but since Mongoose has gone and made a special Fed CC mini, I was reminded of the class history of the Fed CVS. Most were built new as carriers all along, but the Nimitz was converted from a CC. That gave me a chance to make a CVS that looks different than her sisters, but still uses the same SSD.

I started with a Mongoose CC, but replaced the secondary hull with one from a Zocchi Fed dreadnought. It did not take much to get the pieces to fit. A slight bend was added to the warp pylons to get them to sit at the correct angle. Since the DN hull has the pylons further apart than the CC's original lower hull, the ship looks wider than the CA or CC, which is good for a carrier, right?

Yes, this mini has the forward-facing hanger bay and does NOT have a rear bay, but I like the look of the bay up front.

Also, the destroyer escort in these pictures was made with parts from the same Zocchi DN. The fighters are SL2400 F-18s. The frigate escort is a Mongoose SL2500.

The carrier's stripes were meant to be blue, but they look more gray.

Glad this is not coming at me!

Missing her red stripe, but from here you can see the hanger bay.

And a parting shot as she heads out.

On a carrier kick at the moment.

I decided to take a stab at the Federation fast carrier and a couple of much smaller police carriers. First up are three shots of the still-in-progress CVF and last will be a shot of the E4V and the Fed police carrier (all currently unpainted).

Personally, I think the hanger modules on the police carrier need to be bigger. I would say about half-again longer / wider / thicker should do it.

You are probably right about the fighter bays needing to be larger. I had made some that were quite a bit bigger, but they just didn't look right to me when I mocked them up with the hull. I went ahead and used the smaller ones just because I knew it would always bother me.
