I voted for Commando ships, though I have to admit my reason wasn't necessarily for gaming reasons. I just got stationed to the Iwo Jima and now feel loyalty to Commando ships!

We staff-test each ship for a few days but these are variant conversions and don't take more testing than that.

I'll go with the theme of commerce raiders/convoy escorts. This can, I suppose, include commando ships. It could include pirates and/or privateers as well.

I say this partly because I spent some time working on rules for a commerce raiding campaign. Also, these kinds of ships are likely to be small, and small ships can be an interesting challenge to play in Fedcom. Dreadnoughts can absorb a terrific beating and still fight on. But light ships can be a serious challenge to use well, because they can be unforgiving.

And everybody like to play pirates. Or pirate hunters.

Workable fighter rules aren't ready yet, and being four months into the year (counting the April issue that's already done) we are on track with commando ships for this year.
