Same-hex firing

Only three ships may fire *out* of one hex, if I understand the rule correctly.

What happens if a stack of four or more ships (or Hydran Stngers) is in the *same* hex as their target? Are only three of them allowed to shoot, or can they all fire?

And what happens if the same (rather crowded) hex contains more than one potential target?

I would think that since the intent of the rule is to prevent "superstacks" from firing as a group, the same would hold true for same-hex firing solutions and only three units could fire at the same target in a single impulse.

As for what happens if the same crowded hex contains more than one potential target...
Since the hexes are actually quite large (or rather, huge) compared to the size of the units in them, there can be a near infinite number of discreet targets. A stack of 4 Stingers in the same hex as two potential target can split there fire among the differing targets... as long as they don't violate the "3 units per hex face" rule. Hopefully you maneuvered well enough to put the two targets on differing facings as you entered the hex, hereby enabling you to target them both.
