How big are the Starline 2400 minis?

The exact minis in question are the Romulan ships and the New Fed ships. Me and my friend want to get a romulan fleet (me) and New Fed fleet (friend) but worried about the size of the minis.
Any help would be great.

The Starline ships are scaled to 1:3970. That probably doesn't give you the answer that you're looking for, but you're covering a lot of ships...

Most of them are approximately 1 1/2 o 2 inches long. There are exceptions:
The Hydran Gandarme (police ship) I sculpted is 7/8th of an inch long.
The new Juggernaut I'm working on now is going to be 3-inches long.

If that helps, great... if not - then PM me with a couple of Fed and a couple of Romulan ships you're particularly interested in and I'll measure them for you.

Or, you could check the links at the bottom of my message. Many of the minis I have photographed were sitting on the mega-hex map. Those hexes are 1 1/4 inch across, so that'll give you an idea of scale.

The Condor Dn is approximately 2 3/4 inches or 7 CM ---
The Seahawk FF at 1 1/4 inch or 4 CM ---

Other classes fall somewhere in between --

I know ADB supplies their own hexmaps, but we've found that hexes 2" across work pretty good for all the regular minis. We made our own by printing one sheet, photocopying the rest, taping them together from the back, and laminating them in long strips. Put the strips together with just a few pieces of tape and, voila, an entire large map. On a 4'x6' table it is about the same size as a regular map would be if you were using cardboard counters.

I'll throw my bit in here, I have some Federation NCLs, they're 2 3/8ths long or about 6.2 cms. (from tip of saucer to rear of nacelle). I also have some old CLs, and they're quite a bit smaller, 1 9/16 inches or 4.4cm.

Some other ships I have:

Klingon D7 - 1 7/8ths
Kzinti CM - 1 11/16ths
Gorn BC - 2 5/16ths

and the biggest ship I have so far:

Gorn DN - 3 2/8" or about 8.4 cm

I think the scale is 3788.

Basically, Lou Zocchi told the sculptor to do the enterprise three inches long, and everything else comes from that.

Has "Uncle Lou" ever indicated who the sculptor or tooler was? I've always been curious, as the craftmanship is truly stunning. I've used the plastic Fad CA to show new-hire engineers what is possible with injection molding.
