Can you tell me the ships in this product?
I only have Klingon Attack, and it looks like a great way to boost the amount of ships for the game.
Thanks.................Doug

10 scenarios, set in the Midle Years era
1 page of Middle Years rules

Can you be more specific about the ships?
How many from each race, that sort of thing.
Thanks................Doug

It's a mixture of ships small (frigate/police ship) to large (dreadnought) for all the major empires, slightly fewer for the other empires. The Feds. for example, get Pol, FF, oCL, CA, GSC, CC (along with the CLH, and oCA).
Note that very nearly all the ships are Middle Years versions of ships already part of the game in other products. If you are looking for completely new ships, this isn't the product you want (and you should look into the various "Attack" expansions).

Although, with the Reference Rulebook, this book, and a map and counters, you could play games with most of the empires already in teh game - only exceptions are Selts, M81 galaxy Tholians, and LDR.

The list of ships (and scenarios) is given in
this Briefing #2 thread. Note that the Fed DN, DD, and DDM are not included, as they must wait for Booster #91. However, first and third of those ships are available already in Communique. (The DD is in Communique, too, but it is not the Middle Years version.)
And Terry is completely correct: Assuming you already have counters and maps to spare, the Reference Rulebook and Briefing #2 give you a ready-made game with tons of options for $35.

It sounds great,
I have Klingon Border? the basic game with the Reversion 4 rule book.
Getting the more updated rule book and a taste of all the diffrent races in one book sounds like a good Idea.
which races are included I assume Fed, Gorn, Klingons, Kizinti.
How about the Lyrons, Hydrons, and others?
How do the middle years ships differ from the ships in the Klingon border?

Generally speaking, they have weaker off-side shielding (i.e., the #3, 4, and 5 shields have not yet been upgraded)
And they ahve fewer weapons
there are other minor differneces, but those are the biggies
Oh yeah, Hydrans haven't developed Hellbores yet, so all the Hydran ships are the fusion variants.

I got another look at this over the weekend.
The Ranger has lost three of her fighters.
Since the 'mainstream' Ranger published in a Communique a while back had the full complement of nine Stingers, could I put in a plea that the ship card in Hydran Attack retains the full SFB complement of nine?
Probably too late, I know.

Dan, the Briefing #2 Ranger has only six stinger-1s. The Main Era version has always had nine Stinger-2s, AFAIK. There must have been a refit that added the extra Stingers.

I'm relieved to hear that, thanks Steve.
Terry - As far as I know, the Ranger has always carried nine fighters in SFB. Perhaps the reduction in Briefing #2 was due to the more restricted half-page control sheet?

Nah, I am sure the Middle Years Ranger was cut down to six fighters just to keep in more in scale with its other opponents. But it is a Middle Years thing, so don't worry too much about it.
