If you put the CB decals on a CC, it'll be a CB.

The Heavy Command Cruiser (CB) is not in Federation Commander (yet). That ship is still just an SFB thing (and it isn't that big of a change from the CC - I'd rather go to a BC instead, given the choice).

Echoing the above, AFAIK there is no external difference between the CA, CC, and CB (other than some phaser mounts, etc.). Given the CB's "center warp", there ought to have been, but the BC doesn't show any external signs of it either.

I've seen some people who have added a tiny nacelle on top of the saucer on their CBs (and BC's).

To show the center warp on the BC, I've used the forward end only of the old OCL warp engines, cut off at the rings. They are attached to primary on each side of the trailing spine pointing up. The bump effect is like what is seen on the 1701-A, except mine are "out-ies" and the E has "in-ies".

Only key spoting differences I can think of between a CC and a CB (besides something to represent the small, in-saucer center warp) is a second drone rack in the rear hull and a second pair of FH Ph-1s in the saucer.

I'm just starting to get to use the CB in an SFB Admiral's Game I've been playing with Dale McKee. So far, I love the ship. Almost a Fed version of a Romulan Novahawk!

The BC minis don't really have anything external to show the center warp in the saucer though. The CB has always been (to me anyway) a BC saucer on a CC hull, but the saucers are externally the same, other than the two extra ph-1 bumps on the underside.

I plan to add some blue square intercooler patches to the top of my BC saucers and also one of the gray cooling grids on either side of the "neck" (like the two on each side of the DD and SC neck) to indicate the center warp. I'm assuming it is embedded into the saucer hull, since none of the published art show any external signs of it, I'm going minimal.

I'd do something similar, if I ever did a CB mini.

Probably later this summer. I have a master I need to finish first and a whole bunch of minis I need to get assembled, based and primed. Then I can get back to painting.

Sorry guys. I don't have a camera. Tony saw some of my conversions a few Origins ago. There was a FFX , CVAH, OCLG, and a Lyran Lioness. There was also some Planet Crushers I made and gave away. I was hoping to go this year but I lost my job last year, so no joy for me.

Been thinking about this tread lately, and I had this idea: Since the GSC mini's saucer is thicker than the CA/CC/BC saucers, one could get a GSC mini, trim the sensor dishes off the rim of the saucer, and use that for a CB. The thicker saucer would give it a 'heavy' look you could pick out of a squadron at a glance. It wouldn't have all the weapons bumps, but a spot of glue and some paint or decals would fix that.
