FCOL try out

I'm looking to give the online FC thingy a try out. Anyone interested in taking me through it on the non paying option. If it works out well I may pay for the extra ships etc.
I'm in the UK for arranging a time purposes, free most weekday evenings except Monday (from about 8pm till whatever).

That's 5 hours behind me I believe, so If i say 9pm GMT (I think the wife is expecting me do make a shelf unit first) that would be 4pm your time. I can manage about 3 hours.
I think the 'good battle' part may have to come another time, first time is likely to be me trying to work out how to use the client, I find it very unintuitive. I tried to set up a battle in offline mode yesterday and got nowhwere, couldn't seem to work out how to give ship 1 to one side and the other to the other side, then I couldn't see how pre-arm photons.
On the other hand if I do get used to it then I'll be happy to play a couple of times a week. Or it will just prompt me to get on with finishing my own version!
Are you on Teamspeak? or is it going to be text based comms.
[edit] Actually, thinking about that, that would be 9pm BST (British Summer time). I'm 5 hours ahead of you if you also have a summer time adjustment, 6 hours other wise. As far as I'm aware not all of the East coast uses daylight saving, so I'm not sure what time that will be for you (4pm EDT, 3PM EST)

Do you have anything like teamspeak? voice comms may be nicer than trying to understand texts.

Do an internet search for teamspeak, pinemeister.

Storyelf, I would like to know how it works out if you use teamspeak to play FCOL.

Good time had by all, well me at least - nothing to do with running pinecone off the board
Sort of got the hang of the basics, though I think it'll take a couple more games to properly get the hang of it.
A rematch is penciled in.
A big thank you to Pinecone for taking me through a game, and gar who turned up and helped with questions as well.
